End of the Road...

I've been with my current employer for a lil over 10 yrs now. I was a broke college student (well, community college lol) into my 2nd semester and I just wanted a paying job. My sister was already working there and she got me in as a File Clerk. At 18, I was super excited. It was the bottom of the chain but it gave me an opportunity to work part time, flexible hours, still go to school and have my weekends off. Love It! Throughout the years, I've moved up to different positions, moved to full time, had the best boss who was very lenient with my schedule & vacation and it was perfect for me.

We took pride in being one of the Best Places to Work in the Bay Area and won the title consecutive years. It was a very fun place to work and your coworkers became like family. We had the best parties and I was working with my sister in one dept, my BFF/cousin in another dept, a relative downstairs, high school mates, neighbors, etc

For the past few years, the bank had some MAJOR changes!!! Changes in our policies, name, presidents and a HUGE layoff which felt like 50% of the company. My friends and cousin were let go, all the old timers were gone, then my sister resigned and it left me by myself for a couple years. We knew another string of layoffs were going to happen again and last month, they let me know that my position was affected. My last day working will be a day before my 11th year anniversary. My last day is end of April so I got a couple months left.

I'm scared, yet excited at the same time! I'm a Leo, I worry if things aren't in order. Thanks to the lovely severance package, I will be good for a few months and I plan on taking time off. Hopefully even visit the grandparents back in the islands. But I have NO IDEA what my future has in store. What steps to take. It is like a blessing in disguise cause I knew I didn't want to be in Banking my whole life but I didn't know how go a bouts it. Now life just kicked me out LoL I hope to get into something where I LOVE coming into work everyday. Whatever it is, I will give it 100%. Even if its scrubbing toilets. okay, jk! lol

we were strangers in the night...

This blog has became like my journals... non existent!! I wish I had more time to blog... more like, I wish I had something more interesting to write about! LoL!

A good nine months just flew by...just like a journal entry, it's IMPOSSIBLE to break down nine months. Luckily for FB & IG as well as my camera phone, it keeps my memory in tact or else I would be in trouble!!!

Since I last wrote, the biggest thing in the Spring was losing my sweet 1 yr old nephew Jeremiah in accident. His mother is my first cousin and from the moment I met that sweet angel while visiting Texas, I was instantly attached to him. It was hard for his mother and hard for the family but it amazed me how their faith in God really put peace in their heart. I can never be as strong as my dear sister Kristiana was. I will always admire her strength.

When I think about the summer, i think about my Family. We had a GOOD summer!! As you may know, I am extremely close with my mother's side of the family mostly because we all live right by each other. This summer was filled with fun, bbqs, activities, GNO's (every weekend), spontaneous outtings, GOOD TIMES!!

Then came our Fall, which in the Bay was our "Indian Summer" so it was basically a continuation of the summer! lol My cousin Star is expecting #3, my cousin Ben's wife Chop is also expecting #3, my cousin Nane is expecting #2 & #3. Yes, she's having twins! 2013 babies are on a roll!

And of course my FAV season is here..... FOOTBALL season!! So far, my 49ers are 9-3-1 (the one shouldnt be there...and the 3's were just "one of those days") And also the SF GIANTS won the WORLD SERIES this year!! Amazing!!

Now its Winter... its Xmas Season. I still feel like a grouch! So far the best thing I got all Winter was being my brother's companion to his flying benefits!!!! F**K YEAH!!!!!

Until next time...

P.S. **Honey you give me Butterflies...every time you pass my way boy!

just me ~n~ the road...

At the end of Sunday, I was finally at home winding down a busy day (3 baby blessings (Star & Nane), brunch & a beach day) I was sitting on the laptop on fb, checking emails which is usually the last thing i do before i go to bed which is never before midnight. My older sister along with a cousin & my aunt went to SoCal for my first cousin's Ma'ele baby blessing. I saw on FB that they had car issues on their way home & I seriously laughed about it partially cause I was jealous they got to go out of town & i stayed in town cause it was a busy weekend.

THEN, I get a text from the older sis "Are you still awake?" uugghh i already knew where that was going! Next thing you know, I was on the road BY MYSELF at 1:30am driving from San Mateo to Coalinga! (lil over 3 hr drive)

This wasnt my idea of the "Road Trip" I wanted to go on. Esp, with no co-pilot. Sent out a mass text to my cousins & friends and didnt get any replies in the 5 min window of time. With a 5 hr shot in my system and my nostalgic music collection playing, I was a-okay. First hour I was feeling jittery due to the 5 hr shot! I swear I felt like doing jumping jacks in the car. What I wouldve done to talk to someone! LoL! I even freaked myself out a couple of times cause I felt a cold gust of air and totally got scared thanks to The Sixth Sense movie (cold air=ghost! haha) After 2.5 hrs of reminiscin, American Idol singing & a box of potes, I finally reached my destination. Pulled up to the Best Western in the middle of nowhere to some fk'ofa females sleeping in the lobby! lol

YES! I finally have passengers, finally have someone to talk to, finally someone else can drive so I can sleep for work. . . Hell Yeah! uhhh, Hell NO! These beezies all got in the car and left me to drive. ugghh, its okay. THEN, 10 min on the road, They are all KNOCKED OUT!! Seriously!! I just drove in the middle of the night to save ur ass and you're all sleeping! lol OMG! On top of that, CHP was hot so I was speed limit the whole damn time and even hit traffic from early a.m. commuters!

Needless to say, we got home safe & sound and I even made it to work on time and stayed the whole day too. People say they like driving by themselves cause its great thinking time... NOT ME! I will never drive long distance by myself ever again! Dropping off the ladies, they all Thanked Me and called me their "hero" lol my reply= actions speak louder than words.. SHOW ME! LoL still waiting!!

Thank You to my baddest females for keeping me up during the drive.. Beyonce, Keyshia, Rihanna, Tamia, Alicia and all the rest. Oh, and as for their car problems. *supposedly* they hit a "Mountain Lion"!! yup! a Mountain Lion. Are you laughing yet? Cause I dont see any mountains. As far as i knew, i was driving 2 hrs in farm land & plains. LoL! They said it was bigger than a dog, but smaller than a horse! hahahahaha omg! You be the judge!

sometimes it aint what it seems...

I work in the same city I live (thank goodness) What would normally be a 5 min drive taking the freeway, morning traffic makes it 15-20 min so I take inside roads and takes me less than 10 min. Last week, I noticed a man walking. He was an older man, probably in his late 50's early 60's in a suit, carrying his suitcase and some other kind of bag. I figured he was probably walking towards the bus stop by the freeway and I continued my way to work.

Another day, I saw him crossing the over pass over the 101. Where is he going?, I wondered to myself. I felt sorry for him. Where is his car? He probably doesnt have one? He's probably hot & sweaty. The day after that, I finally saw him on 3rd Ave going towards downtown. Either he's walking faster or I'm going to work later everyday cause I'm finding him at different spots. LoL I wondered if I should offer him a ride. I swore myself I would never do that again cause the last time I did, I offered a ride to a man who was walking in the rain and when he got in my car, he ended up being a complete weirdo.I was scared for my life for the 4 min short drive! Luckily nothing happened but I told myself I wouldnt do that again because weirdos/psychos ruined the chance for innocent people who may need help! ANYWAYS, I seem to feel sorrow when I see something like that. I get all sad for the person and think of worse case scenerio or I think if that were my dad or grandparent. I get that from my grandma! lol So I told myself next time I see this man, I'm gonna offer him a ride!!

This a.m., on my way to work, I noticed him on 3rd Ave again. Being that its a busy road, I pulled over about a block ahead and attempted to wait for him to pass me up. He disappeared so I circled the block! At this point, I sound like a stalker! LOL! I finally located him and I pulled over. I told him I see him every morning walking on my way to work and offered him a ride. He smiled and told me he started walking to work cause thats the only time he gets to excersize since he works long hours everyday. He said Thank You and gave me a thumbs up!

I'm happy I finally laid my case to rest before I keep obsessing on why this man was walking. . . . but boy do I feel like an idiot!!! LOL! Comes to show you that Things Arent Always What It Seems!! I'm so optimistic and I have a heavy heart sometimes and I cant help it... haha

the sisters I chose...

When the sun shines, we'll shine together
Told you I'll be here forever
Said I'll always be a friend
Took an oath, I'ma stick it out till the end

Throughout the years, I've made friends here and there, hung out with different crowds, gained friends, lost friends, etc. But one thing is for sure, I still maintained my BFFs! These are girls Ive known the longest and still kept the closeness with. No matter what we go through in life, we know that we are there for one another. We dont talk everyday on the phone, it can be weeks before seeing each other but once we get back together, its like old times.

I knew Lome since we were babies. Not only were we in primary together but our families are related and from the same village in Tonga (you know how that goes) She lived down the road from my grandparents house and also next to the park so thats where we would spend most our childhood at. We were basically "stuck" together LOL middle onto high school, even "some" college and until now, we still see each other on a regular. Well of course, we're related. We would cruise in her dad's green Safari van as if it were the coolest car ever lol It didnt matter what kind of car, as long as it got us there. She worked at a restaurant in a hotel as a waitress and I used to come every Saturday morning, hungover, and eat for free, then I would help her make toast for customers or put dishes in racks.

Nuku is another one I've known since we were babies. Yes, we grew up in primary together as well LoL We both grew up in families where we had lots of older sisters plus our fathers were prominent in the church stake. We only went to middle school together but thru high school and college, our bond didnt change. She was THE BIGGEST Backstreet Boys fan EVER!! Her room was decked out from roof to floor. Life size posters, t-shirst, she even had a shrine of memorabilias. I always messed with her, going into her room and messing up her treasured items or hiding them. I remember when N'Sync's "No Strings Attached" album came out, we took her sister's BMW and cruised around San Mateo ALL DAY playing "Bye Bye Bye", and none of had liscense! lol

I think I met Tile when we were in 4th grade. Her older sister & my older sis were BFF's and eventually we met. But we didnt really hang out till we got to middle school. Btw- Bayside was the best middle school! LoL! it was FUNNN! We also went to the same high school too. She was the singer of the group. Has such a strong amazing voice. Tile always hosted parties at her house and they were always CRACKIN!! Everyone from town would be there. The DJ would play everything we loved, they were the best Backyard Boogies! I remember her 13th bday, we watched Menice II Society and eventually, it turned into the biggest food fight ever. In the end, there was 3 inches of food on the floor, cracked bowls, confetti stuck to the roof and her dad was returning home in an hour to come FaiKava. We cleaned that house spic & span so fast, walking around wrapped in bedsheets cause we had no clothes, u wouldve thought it was a toga party. I had the honor of being her Maid of Honor at her wedding.. she was the most beautiful bride ever and it was a lovely wedding. She sang a special dedication to her husband which was the best rendition of Whitney Houston's YOU GIVE GOOD LOVE!

Not a song from the past doesnt have a memory with these ladies. We used to sit at Coyote Point for hours talking and singing Alicia Keys, go workout at Holiday Inn gym which would turn into laying on the ground watching Laguna Beach, having a blast at Homecoming, neighborhood water fights, football games, riding our bikes all around town, shopping for Morp outfits. Tile, Nuku & I even worked for the same company for a couple yrs. Lome would get so irritated cause our conversations would just be about Evergreen! LOL! Relationships, pregnancies, marriages, heartache, family loss, milestones, I'm so grateful for my friendships and I couldnt have asked for a better group of ladies to have such a wonderful bond with.

Lil Mama turned ONE!

My lil namesake finally turned 1. I dont have any kids myself and I have a gazillion nieces & nephews but because she has da best name, she gets spoiled a lil more. I wanted to go all out and do this & that for her bday celebration. Bless her momma's humble heart, she wanted to keep it simple. So she got to celebrate it with the most important people in her life. Her parents, her aunties (2nd moms in her life) and all her cousins (her future partners in crime & her bodyguards)

*If you ask "How Old Are You?", she'll put her hand to her ear like she's talking on the phone

*She LOVES saimini, pancakes & ice cream

*She enjoys getting tickled on her back

*always runs to a laptop or phone to take pictures or go photobooth

*loooves SODA!

*of all the babies born 2011, she was the only girl. Her other 4 cousins are all boys and she is going to be their biggest headache

*She bobs her head up & down when she hears the beat of rap music

*starting to hit people when she gets upset

Forgiveness

Forgive (For*give")
verb (used with object)

1. to grant pardon for or remission of (an offense, debt, etc.); absolve.

2. to give up all claim on account of; remit (a debt, obligation, etc.).

3. to grant pardon to (a person).

YES, I have forgiven Kyle Williams!! Sunday evening, The Bay Area was filled with devastating 49er fans and a lot of hate towards punt return Kyle Williams who fumbled twice which the NY Giants scored on his 2 fumbles. Which eventually lead to the 49ers losing in overtime by 3 pt (so hard to say that)

Basically, I think this game was a cake walk for NY, but who cares what I think. 49ers soooo had this in the bag if it werent for those errors. I did not tweet, fb any death threats to Kyle Williams. I figured the kid is already sad himself and he is only human. . . we all make mistakes. His just mattered to more people. Here's a cute lil story & letter a kid wrote to KW after the game...

He was crying, saying of Kyle Williams, with the distinct sobs of a seven-year-old between each word, "But... why... did he... have to... fumble?"
[...]
Trying to get his son to stop crying, Michael asked him, "If you feel this way, how sad do you think Kyle Williams is?"
Owen paused a second, then asked his dad, "Can I write him a letter to make him feel better?"

too cute! Even watch this video... I did the same thing LOL

All in all, SF49ers had an Amazing season this year! Who would've thought that with a new coach, they would go from a 6-10 season to a 13-3 and playing for NFC Championship!

Thank you Jim Harbaugh, <3Patrick Willis, <3 Vernon Davis, Justin Smith, Aldon Smith, Michael Crabtree, Alex Smith, Joe Staley, Mike Iupati, Anthony Davis, Alex Boone, <3Dashon Goldson, Carlos Rogers, Isaac Sopoaga, Anthony Dixon, Donte Whitner, Aldon Smith, Blake Costanzo for the best Fall & Winter 2011! I hope this squad stays the same next season!!

where would you go?!?

In my "My Best Friend's Wedding", Kimmy went to Cubs Stadium. In "Jumping The Broom", Sabrina went to her yacht. I always wondered to myself, Where would be the place I go if I were to feel stressed or needed to get away. Luckily I havent been in that situation before until yesterday. I was just feeling a bit down & out about a number of things and being at work was NOT helping at all. I had to get out of there. My mind was so clouded and I needed to clear it. I asked my boss if I could leave early and all I wanted to be was somewhere where I felt most at peace. I finally got there with a friend and we talked & talked, laughed, joked, etc. I finally figured, I FOUND MY PLACE! Thank You HALF MOON BAY for your beautiful stretch of beaches, a beautiful sunset, mystic sounds of waves crashing and only a 15 min drive from my home. You really did calm my nerves and made me feel a WHOLE lot better!!

Football in January...i LOVE it!

I forbid myself from mentioning any more football in any of my blogs but I cant help it! DID YOU SEE THE GAME ON SATURDAY?!? OMG, probably one of the BEST football games I've seen ever. Probably one of the best since *my team* won but all in all, it was a GREAT game! Especially when booboo got emotional cause his touchdown! haha If you havent seen it, please youtube it, 49er.com, espn, nfl.com, whatever. lol Its been a while since 49ers been to the playoffs so I'm enjoying every bit of football in January! NFC Championship game at da Stick (Candlestick) on Sunday, super excited. Win or Lose, THANK YOU Jim Harbaugh, 49ers, especially boo Vernon and his teammates for making January excited for us BAYdestrians.

Road Block :/

I'm at a point in my life where I need to see what it is that I want to do (career wise) and get crackin on it! I've been employed with my current employer for 10 yrs this May.YIKES! When I got hired, it was my 2nd semester at CSM (also my last haha), I was a teenager, I was broke, and ANY job wouldve done. Luckily, I was hired by a great company and I've been here every since!

When talking about careers with a friend at my HS Reunion, he expressed how much he hates his job. He even joked that I probably got my job because of Affirmative Action (haha jerk!) He asked how I felt bout mine, and i thought about it, and I told him "I was content!" It was just weird cause believe it or not, I've never really thought about it. My job was perfect for me at the time. I had a flexible schedule, my boss was cool and let me take whatever days off I wanted. I would come to work so hungover with only a couple hours of sleep dragging and it would be nothing.

But now, I'm older. My sister asked me what my dream job would be, and I really couldnt answer her! I told her I wanted to open up a bakery, but funny thing is, I dont even like baking! LOL! When I was younger, I wanted to be a news reporter. Sophmore year, I wanted to be an accountant, Senior year, I wanted to teach. Now, I cant think of anything. . . how sad! I dont expect to be at the Bank for the rest of my life (i hope) But I have no clue what steps to take, to further my path towards my dream career.

I was thinking about taking night classes to get the mojo flowing, but I just dont know. And I got scared because I just realized, I'm finally growing up!

remember me????

Cant believe I went for so long without blogging...even BS blogging! But this holiday season consumed all my attention:) Birthday Parties, many Holiday parties, SHOPPING (for myself. . . . window), awaiting my brother's phone call home, family members visiting from all over, etc

So this past Christmas season, the spirit hit me hella hard. It like, slapped me in the face, kicked me to the ground, and left me there holding my stomach! LOL! I was feeling everything on so many different levels, humility, forgiveness, patience, and that's so not normal. Part of my "all of da sudden" attitude came from being so amazed by Patrick Willis' story. His story is similar to the BlindSide movie but it was more eye opening for me. Yes, there was a palangi family that took him in but they werent wealthy like they Touey's were to Michael Oher. And it was not only Patrick Willis, but his siblings as well.

Prior to being "rescued", they lived in ways I cannot even imagine. A double wide at the end of a dirt road in a small town in Tennessee with no running water or electricity. They litterally had to use the restroom in buckets and dump it in the woods at the end of the day. Patrick, being the eldest of 4, had to cook & prepare dinner for his younger siblings by the time he was in 1st grade. By the age of 10, he worked in the cotton field to get money and helped pay for the electricity when they finally got it. With living arrangements like that, an absent mother, an abusive father, he sure did have the heart & passion for sports! Okay, so i have a lil crush on him! LOL!

Anyways, I was out to lunch with my cousin & a coworker and I mentioned this story and blah blah blah. I mentioned that I only witnessed people living like this in Tonga. It was mind boggling to think that folks live like this in American and this & that. THEN, the palangi coworker says how she actually can relate to his story because she grew up the same way. In a trailor, no electricity, hopping from place to place. But not in Tennessee or Kentucky, this was in CALIFORNIA! First thought that came to my head was this was my time to insert my foot in my mouth RIGHT NOW!!! Second thought was, here I am talking about all these famous uli uli football players who made it out da slums, ta koe, there was a BlindSide story right in front of me! A palangi Blindside story.

What? First i was surprised that my coworker lived her childhood like that. More power to her. But I was even more surprised how that lifestyle hit me close to home. Like, I actually know a person who experienced all of that. And believe it or not, my heart really sunk knowing there are actually starving children in America. I'm not tryna sound like a 5 cents a day informercial, but its just crazy. Maybe i lived my life being very naive, or maybe its because my damn nieces & nephews are frickin spoiled fatties! But this was one of my reasons Santa sprinkle some of his hard stuff on me during this time.

gettin da X on X-Factor

Like OMG! That was the worse breakdown on a singing competition show I've ever seen! I havent been a big follower of X-Factor this season but I do watch clips on Youtube and this lil girl was too cute, esp singing Etta James "I'd Rather Go Blind". Anyone who can pull off an Etta James tune gots my vote! But she was devastated when she didnt move on. Nicole got dramatically emotional cause she felt it was her fault. . . WHOA! it was crazy! But I too got emotional too so :P This flooded my FB. Some folks are saying she was too confident thinking she was gonna move on, but I think she should've won!

on the 8th day of Xmas....

Past years, I so havent felt the "christmas spirit". I never liked listening to Xmas music cause its everywhere! I complained I hear it in the car, I hear it at work, I hear it at the store, etc I dont walk around in a jolly mood, da best thing about xmas was the movie ELF! lol. I was such a grumpy scrooge!

But this year, so far is sooo different. I feel more grateful, more humbled. I guess it started when watching the First Presidency Christmas Devotional. Prez Monson said "I'm saddened to see Christmas becoming less and less about Christ and more & more about marketing & sales & parties & presents. But yet, Christmas is what we make of it!"  OMG, so true! To me, the season was about wearing cute scarves & other winter clothes, Holiday blends at Starbucks, seasonal peppermint JoeJoe's at Trader Joes and Shopping Shopping Shopping.

That night, we attended a fireside with keynote speaker 49er Will Tukuafu & his wife Krystle. Listening to their stories make me think about myself and what I would've done if I were in their shoes. They're both very humble, very inspiring and it got me re-evaluating my life. (is it too serious in here? LOL) Anyways, on da drive home, I was telling the girls... I didnt grow up with a silver spoon. We had our fair share of Hard Times & humble beginnings. But it seems like, i forget sometimes. And i stated that I need HUMILITY to come and slap me in the face again from time to time as a wake up call. And this sure was a wake up call.

The next day, I felt all jolly & giddy! lol I shared my story with whoever wanted to listen cause everyone else looked at me in disbelief and rolled theirs eyes like, Okay, sure! haha Haters! I'm not trying to save the world but I feel there's more I can do. I looked up a bunch of places to volunteer, not just for the season but throughout the year. My girls and I were supposed to have a craft night and decided why not make a craft and give it to someone we want to share with (ie, a young couple who just moved into town expecting a baby)

On my way to Target, I was at the 3rd Avenue light (which can get pretty busy & congested) The car in front of me wasnt moving at the green light. I sat there being patient (for the first time) and cars behind us were honking, screaming, etc. Finally, the lady gets out the car (probably in her late 50's/early 60's) and screams "give me a break!" Then she's trying to push her own car & steering at the same time. I felt so sorry for her since everyone was being A-holes honking & flipping the birdie as they sped passed her. I pulled my car into the donut shop and walked back to help her. Walking towards her, I can see she was struggling and NO ONE else stopped. By the time I got there, she made little progression. But this was still a busy intersection, folks are still at a red light. I looked up while pushing the car and they're all starring but no one got out to help! I was just lost for words. Maybe they thought I had it all under control LOL But still. We parked her car and I ended up giving her a ride to where she was heading.

So we made these cute ornament wreaths and delivered them. It was too cute and the folks were very appreciative and felt da love. Das What I'm Talkin Bout

My CUTE purple/silver wreath!

So far, my Christmas Spirit level is where it needs to be....and I love it!

P.S. So Hurry Down the Chimney Tonight:)

Now I'm gonna leave you with a couple xmas commercials I enjoyed as a kid lol

i just like this one in general. lol its cute

a piece of da Windy Cindy

so I'm a cooking show fanatic. I watch it all, Diners Drive-Ins, Top Chef, Man vs Food, Paula Dean, etc. On Travel channel, they always have these ____ Paradise shows (Burger, Pizza, Deep Fry) and they also have a Hot Dog Paradise. Drool in my chair cause the only thing I know bout hot dogs are the Costco ones. *which I may add are the best! esp cause you cant beat $1.50 w/ a drink*

My brother is serving in Chicago and he always talks about their hot dogs and how the best ones are at Cub stadium. A coworker mentioned this place called FLETCH's in Downtown San Mateo so we decided to give it a try.

It was super cute with all its "Chicago" decour....

The food was excellent. Now I can relate when on the show, they mention the dog makes a "snap" sound. Cause this hot dog had da SNAP! LOL! and the bright green relish is super yum! The pickle is totally covering the toppings under so you cant really tell.

Old pix of me & my nephew Valentino but I just wanna show off my CHICAGO CUBS sweater my brother got me. Not a fan but it has sentimental value lol and it was 4th of July weekend so I wanted to wear Red, White & blue!

can i also please mention today is my "Monday" and its hard already coming back to work after a week. But to come back to this!!!!! OMG shoot me! Where do I start?!?

P.S. Atomic Dooogggggggg... bow wow wow yippy yo yippy yay! lol
YAY for FAT BLOGS!!

Gracias, Malo, Wer Dankin Dir...

November just came, slapped me in da face, and then left! lol I had a nice week off from work and did absolutly NOTHING! Partially because I got sick but still...felt good!

Thanksgiving was great. Mom cooked of course and we had my Young St Unga family over as well as my Auntie Le'o and her husband from Kahuku. Talk about FOOD COMA!
Sis wanted to go to da local bar to watch the 49ers game but we're more chill relax kinda folks so we ended up on the couch at my aunt's house half dead and still full. WHAT A HORRIBLE GAME it was. I give it up to da Raven's defense! they were beastin and hella solid. I just witnessed my dear poor 49ers gettin ripped to pieces! lol no bueno! I was a hard thing to watch!

After the 5th round sitting around the table again. They all decided they wanted to hit up Black Friday! I've never had a Black Friday experience (maily cause I always had no money) but i didnt feel it was necessary. Anyways, they all decided to go, and came back empty handed! lol I went to Hillsdale Mall later on at 3am and it felt weird being there when all the lights are out. Like, I wanted to rob a store or sumin haha
My dear cousin Tasha was getting married that weekend so we spent the rest of Black Friday helping prep for the wedding, setting up at the eating, going to flower mart, etc. We spent that night doing flower arrangements. I dont want to see any hydrangeas in a loooong time. On top of that, imagine it in 30 degree weather lol

Here's a pix of my seat at AT&T park for Cal vs OSU football game. I love coming to AT&T park, it's so beautiful:) Especially with the Bay right behind it

P.S. Many Rivers to Cross...

Happy Birthday Auntie Pou...

My mom's side of the family is so big, her first cousins range from her age to mine! So I do hang out with some of my aunts & uncles. . .  but they're like cousins! ya know lol ITS CRAB SEASON...so original plan was to have a Crab Party since that is Auntie Pou's fav food. Due to some kinda "crab strike", there's no crab ANYWHERE!!! From Manila to Marina market= NADA! So Plan B- SAN FRANCISCO!! Off to the Wharf we go. One of my fav places to go eat. Just our luck, they have the same crab problem the rest of the Bay Area is going through and only have frozen ones. No, Thank You! So we enjoyed EVERYTHING else they had! Yum Yum Yum! Crab Cakes, shrimp, calamari, Fish, Clam Chowder, Crab Sandwiches. We totally pigged out! Kai ke mohe seriously! lol We all thanked Auntie Pou for being born today haha cause any reason to go to SF is a good enough reason for me:)

sis KAT, auntie POU & cuzzn LOTO waitin for the other ladies & drolling over the menu

parked right across the street from BOUDIN so you cant just walk by and not get something! LOL! I got "Garlic Volcano" bread and Loto got "Rustic Stuffing Bread" which tasted like Thankgiving in dough! LOL! So Yum!

cant really get the whole pix but Justin Herman Plaza on Embarcadero was covered with tents of OCCUPY SF protestors camping out! First time seeing it in real life and not on the news.

Luckily for us, my mom has a palangi friend, George, who works at United but is also a Fisherman. In exchange for giving him business, he gives us buddy passes. SCORE!! George brought us crabs he caught on Saturday and we got to enjoy it on Sunday while watching the 49ers vs NY Giants. 2 very good combos!
P.S. Oooooooohhhh. . . .  who lives in a pineapple under the sea?!?

a family that prays together.....

It seems like a lot of my blogs have been about Football lately, but it's only because its da season!!

With all the drama going on with Penn State and their football coaches, Saturday was the first game they had in decades without their head coach & legend Joe Paterno. Before the game started, both Penn State & Nebraska team members joined middlefield and knelt down together and prayed! It was a prayer given by Nebraska's coach and moment of silence for all the victims involved in the scandal. The stadium was in complete silence and filled with tears. This just breaks my heart and one thing I kept hearing with this whole Penn State sex scandal was "lets put an end to silence" YES, LETS!!!

Being Poly, I think we greatly appreciate the Power of Prayer. Its the answer to everything! LOL! I dont remember how many times I've been told to "pray about it" and I, in return, have told others the same thing. Its one of the greatest things that we need to take for granted.

Even these Poly NFL players (49ers vs Bengals) took time to gather and pray before the game. Cant be too cool to PRAY!

on a lighter note... super excited that my 49ERS are 8-1!!!! We've always had good players on this team, just needed the right coach and Harbaugh is doing one hell of a job!

P.S. *from the moment i wake up...before I put on my make-up. ILL SAY A LIL PRAYER FOR YOU! hahaha
