I Scream, YOU Scream

One thing about my family, we LOVE food! (if ya cant tell LOL) We will drive the distance if its worth it to us. It can be as small as driving to Artichoke Joes in San Bruno if we want pan fried noodles & mongolian beef 2 in the morning to going to the Crepe Truck in the middle of the night in San Francisco cause it doesnt close till 4am. One time, my sisters and I drove from San Mateo to Tracy (about an hour drive) because my oldest sis had a pregnancy craving for Golden Coral and that was the nearest! haha crazy woman!

One of my sisters been there & always talk about it, it was on Food Network's "Best Thing I ever Ate: Crazy Good" and it was a choice given by Duff (cake guy), and it was also featured in the cartoon "UP" at the end. Apparently, the director is a regular...or producer, whatever! Twice this week, we made an adventure to Fenton's Creamery in Oakland, CA. and the ice cream is soooo yum!!!! The banana split is delicious, the pinapple topping, my fav would be the Coffee Cookie Dream (yum) The first time we went, we each had our own bucket, took it to Treasure Island and just sat there chomping it down! it was yum:)

Next ice cream adventure was a recommendation from my Auntie Mahea to try Mitchell's in SF. Until my next fat blog... haha

PS... We found love in a hopeless place <--video a bit weird but im feelin dis song!

Good things do come out of Social Networks:)

Growing up, I've never been around people with the same last name as mine. My family was the only ones with that name in the Bay Area, maybe even California. I have first cousins on my dad's side, but we all have diff last names. But i loved it cause i felt unique! I know damn nearly all my mom's side of da family, my dad's maternal side as well but only a few from my dad's paternal side. The ones in da states are in Texas, Utah & Seattle.

So when my auntie put up a family page on Facebook, it was cool to see folks with the same family name that I've never met. We quickly become friends on FB because we have the same last name but never met before. One of my cousins play football for UH (university of Hawaii) He is my 2nd cousin, his grandfather stayed over our home a couple times before, my parents visited his family in Maui but I've never met any of em. So I noticed San Jose State was playing UH in football out here so I messaged my cousin on FB and introduced myself and told him that I look forward to meeting him at the game. My sister & I started texting him back & forth and he actually hooked us up with tickets to go see his game.

It was such a GREAT game! San Jose won by 1 point LAST MINUTE but it was awesome! After the game, my sisters & girls waited by the UH buses like some groupies (LOL!) for him to walk out. We see him, call him over and we all met each other, hugged, took pix, etc

He ended up coming with us so we can take him to grab a bite to eat. His request was In & Out so thats where we ended up. We basically tried to catch up 20+ yrs into a few hours but it was so cool. Comparing family personalities, family traits, showing each other pix. It was our first time meeting him but we instantly bonded cause he reminded us so much of our lil bro. By the end of the night, we took him back to his hotel room with a full stomach, pocket money and some *goodies and got to meet some of his teammates. BTW: at In&Out was UH football heaven! Felt like the WHOLE team was there lol

So happy I got to meet him. He already has plans to come back within the next few months so hopefully he can meet the rest of us. As weird as it sounds, Facebook bought us all together! lol funny, but true!

SUNDAY FUN-DAY

My friends and I love Sundays. Not only does it seem like its the prettiest day of the week AND goin to church (DUH! lol), but its also our chill day. Usually after church, we do something. Whether its chillin havin dinner by the pool or visiting friends in neighboring cities. Our fav has to be when we go to the City (SF) and "get lost". We take a stroll on da Golden Gate bridge, go on a lil boat ride around da Bay, etc.

This past Sunday we got in the car and headed 101 North. We wanted to catch the sunset in the city and we came across 'The Presidio' sign. One place i've never been but always wanted to go was Chrissy Field. So...Chrissy Field it was and I was in love....again! The sun was already beginning to set and we wanted to catch it at Baker Beach but i couldnt leave Chrissy Field. lol The day was so clear, not a cloud in the sky, no rolling fog thru da GG Bridge. We did make it to Baker Bridge and the sun was set already but the sky & the twilight was so pretty. We only had our camera phones which couldnt catch our faces so we made the best of what we had! Had fun chasing the waves and tryna skip rocks! lol

OLIVE & I at CHRISSY FIELD... typical Wedding Invitation pose! LOL!
GORGEOUS evening at BAKER BEACH

Namaste :)
After SF, we went over the Bay Bridge to the Oakland Temple cause that place always makes me feel at peace. Never been to Sonics (heard it wasnt great) but wanted to whole curbside experience with the girl on her roller skates. Luckily we only ordered milkshakes. Had dinner at In & Out and made it back across the San Mateo bridge to home sweet home.

**NOTE...had a blog idea but it wouldnt make it complete without a certain pix and my darn lil sis LOST THE CAMERA with the pix on there:( So hopefully it will show up soon.

P.S. ALL THE OTHER KIDS WITH THE PUMPED UP KICKS, BETTER RUN BETTER RUN...OUTRUN MY GUN!!! <--addicting song!

things that made me smile over the weekend....

*a dear childhood friend Tommy Lee got married to his sweet love Lola over the weekend. What a great celebration it was. Especially to see family & friends from afar

*oh really...an All Blacks fan, huh! There's another pix of him with a Manu shirt on as well. Nice to know he still got pride in his culture!

*49ers played an AWESOME game on Sunday making them 4-1 (im still upset w/ the game they lost against Dallas! shouldve never happened!) But now Niners are first in the NFC West teams! woohoooo

*watched a documentary on ESPN that I've seen before about the 49er legacy! Bill Walsh is the greatest!

i think doing the Haka before games is getting hella played out since it seems like EVERYONE is doing it. But for some reason, i loved this one! lol maybe cause its MY team but Just pls dont do this every game! lol

*with the passing of their owner Al Davis, this game meant more than anything to the Raiders. Happy to see their victory, and happy my cousin Manase Tonga official made the Raiders team and played his first NFL game!

*TALOFA! haha This is an article in the Sept issue of ESPN. Troy Polamalu spends time in American Samoa at a football camp. CheeeeHoooooo

*so i hear this will be da Niners uniforms next year by Nike. hmmm....

it seems like im a football junkie but I'm really not...i just LOVE my team and to watch Sports Center.

*spoke to my grandparents in Tonga to give em da confirm # at Western Union. Hearing my grandpa's voice over the phone saying "I LOVE YOU" just made my heart melt. Not that I needed him to reassure me (LOL!) but i guess it meant more to me since I miss him dearly
